Fill in the
blanks with suitable verb forms in any
examination first of all we should know about tenses and the three forms of a
verb. Then only we can identify the tense. Now I want to explain to you some of
the examples on tenses.
1. They are in the kitchen. They are -------------

Ans: a.
Explanation: To denote present going on action we
should use present continuous tense only.
2. They -------- before I came.

Ans: b.
Explanation: When two actions completed in past
in fraction of seconds the first completed action should be in past perfect,
second completed action should be in simple past. In this sentence the first
completed action is they had gone. Second one is I came

Ans : c
Explanation: To denote an action which starts in
past ,continues in present, and possibility to continue in future we should use
present perfect continuous tense.
4. They ------- doctor last night.

Explanation: To denote already completed action
we should use simple past.
5. The film ------ just now.

Explanation : To denote just completed action we
should use present perfect tense only.

Explanation: When an action completed in past we
should use past perfect tense only.

Explanation: To denote future action we should
use simple future.

Explanation: To denote point of time we should
use present perfect continuous tense.

Explanation:
Here team is a collective noun. It takes singular verb. So we should use has
won.

Explanation: To denote recently completed action
we should use present perfect tense.

knowledge about tenses and verb forms we cannot frame a sentence and even
cannot identify the errors in any sentences. So practice on tenses more to get
